True Anomaly Brewing, one of Houston’s top craft breweries, contacted Pennebaker for a spirited idea: we design labels for their latest experimental brews, and in turn, we get a unique marketing opportunity. A win-win. With ex-NASA founders and a space-themed brand, True Anomaly is all about pushing boundaries. Their newest creations, fermented with white and red grapes, needed identities as distinctive as the beers themselves. Enter White Dwarf and Red Giant.
Our strategy was simple: Blend science with craft beer storytelling. White Dwarf and Red Giant weren’t just names; they were a nod to the cosmos. With bold, space-inspired visuals, the labels and packaging took cues from engineering and astronomy to captivate drinkers at first glance. This wasn’t just about labels; it was about crafting an experience. Space, science, and craft beer—what’s not to love?

Red Giant is a foeder-aged saison with fermented Malbec. White Dwarf, a foeder-aged saison with Gewürztraminer.
